My Current Studies

I currently am working in three separate studies:

  • Production in the Innovation Economy: How to Create Excellence Through Competition and Benchmarking in the U.S. Shipbuilding and Defense Industry. This project is sponsored by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Research, Development, and Acquisition) and seeks to help improve the productivity and competitiveness of the US shipbuilding industry. It is an appendage to a larger study of industrial productivity at MIT study known as Production in the Innovation Economy (PIE).
  • Consortium for Engineering Program Excellence (CEPE): This is a joint effort between MIT and the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).  The study seeks to better define how Lean principles and practices can be applied to the management of engineering programs to improve their performance.  You can learn more about this project the Joint Lean in Program Management Community of Practice page.
  • Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology Enterprise Stakeholder Analysis. This study is supporting the creation of the new Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology in Russia by identifying key stakeholders in the new institute, identifying their expectations for value delivery, and helping to support the new adminstration in strategy and planning to meet those value delivery expectations.
